Folks,

I've downloaded the SP4 executable from microsoft, and I
need to make it into a CD. I extracted the files using
w2ksp4_en.exe -x at the DOS prompt and now have an I386
directory. My computer is prompting me for a Service Pack
4 CD, but it I burn this directory to CD it doesn't work.
I also tried burning the executable to the CD, and I tried
burning just the files within I386 to CD, none of these
methods worked. Can anyone provide a little direction
with this?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Kelley

1. Obtain the Service Pack
2. De-compact it with this command:
d:\ W2KSP4_EN.EXE /x
You'll be prompted for the extraction location. For this
example, use D:\SP4.
The service pack will be sent to a folder named "i386"
inside that folder.
3. Copy the entire contents from a Windows 2000 CD to a
hard drive. For this example, use D:\W2KPro.
4. To slipstream from the folder named: D:\SP4 to the
Windows 2000 Pro CD folder named D:\W2KPro, use this
command:
D:\SP4\i386\update\update.exe /s:D:\W2KPro
5. Use a "bootable CD" utility to burn a bootable CD.
