creating SDI and system restore

I installed XP Pro SP2 and the XPe SP2 tools onto a new machine. I created
an extra partition and used the technique of developing and running FBA on
the same machine by using Slobodan's tip of playing with the MountedDevices
registry entry. When I transferred files to my final SDI file which would
be my remote boot file, I got all sorts of errors about duplicate file
names. This did not happen the very first time but happened on at least 5
subsequent attempts. On a hunch, I disabled System Restore and then the
transfer of files was error-less. Does this make sense? If so, did I miss
a something that describes a conflict with System Restore?

How did you transfer files to SDI file? Tool and procedure used for file copy.
If your HDD partition is of correct size you could use it even to create SDI file directly.

Who report the error XPP your copy tool, and what phase?
From XPP you should have access to XPe files on partition D:? since these post FBA files are offline you can copy them as any other
files and system restore should and will not be aware of it.

Make sure that you do not try to copy files from C: while in XPP since these would be XPP files.

I will answer this in 2 weeks when I return ... must catch plane.
