Hello, I am using Windows XP home edition system . I want
to create a partition for my hard disk drive. Under the
Disk management , I can not see the command of New
Partition. And other command become dark, I can not use .
Could you help me ? Thanks a lot !!!

Unless you have free unallocated disk space you cannot partition with disk
management.
You can partition when installing winxp - you will lose all data as a format
is required.
Third party software eg Partition Magic can partition without losing data

Hi,
Windows XP does not allow to partiton drives that are
active. You will need a partiton manager such as Partiton
Magic. It costs quite a bit but is really one of the only
ways to do it short of reformatting and installing
Windows XP from scratch.
There are a couple of freeware programs available but
most need to be run from a DOS and are used to install
multiple operating systems.
Probably not the answer you wanted but for sure the only
safe method without starting over.
Joel
