I have WinXP-Pro installed and running well in my PC with 40GB HDD
then I want to make it dual boot with DOS
I resize my HDD with PartitionMagic: C=20GB (WinXP-Pro), D=20GB (DOS)
the problem is: how to make WinXP-Pro recognized that the new partition (bootable DOS created AFTER WinXP installed) also bootable?
I know Win-XP will automatically detect a bootable partition if installed AFTER the other.
in my case, DOS installed AFTER WinXP
ps. I want WinXP do the dual boot without the help from other program such as BootManager or BootMagic...

thanks.

Thanks for the reply

I want to make dual-boot where DOS installed AFTER WinXP.

The article mentioned in your reply is only for intalling WinXP _AFTER_ DOS (or other operating system)installed, not the other way around

quoted from the article:..
"You have to install Windows XP _only after_ installing MS-DOS, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me to prevent these operating systems from overwriting the Windows XP boot sector and the Windows XP startup files.

I have made the partition for DOS, formatted, and accessible from WinX
WinXP is still running well everytime reboot, but no option for boot to other OS during the start-up process

ps. I want WinXP do the dual boot without the help from other program such as BootManager or BootMagic...

Thank
