Creating new autoshapes

I would like to be able create new autoshapes, similar to
the "Block Arrows" already available in PP. They are
adjustable and reusable, which is what I want to do. Does
anybody know how the MS autoshapes are stored? Are they
in separate files? How can I create a new one?

I'm not sure where the autoshapes are stored, and I'm not sure you can
really create new ones which act exactly like autoshapes.

What you can do, though, is use existing shapes or draw your own (see
the bezier curves tutorial on my site for some additional info about
drawing stuff in PPT -- URL's in signature below), then open Clip
Gallery or Clip Organizer and drag your object(s) to the Gallery or
Organizer icon on your Windows taskbar. Hold it there until the
Gallery/Organizer opens, then release.

That should allow you to save your drawing as a picture in the clip
gallery/organizer so you can easily get to it later for reuse.

Hello Tim,

PowerPoint does not have the capability of either creating new autoshapes
or modifying the existing palettes of shapes that are included with Office.
As others have indicated, you can drag and drop a group of shapes to the
Clip Organizer so that they can be reused easily (and retain their existing
Autoshape adjustment behaviors) but there is no editor available that will
allow you to actually change the behaviors of existing shapes or to create
other shapes and add your own adjustment behaviors to them.

Of course, if you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that
PowerPoint/Office should include some kind feature for creating and/or
editing autoshapes in Office (or have specific recommendations for
additional autoshapes which should be included with Office), don't forget
to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
