creating lan

hi all
i am new in networking and i could use some help,
you see i have 2 pc a dsl router and i want to connect
the pc and also have in both internet i tried the wizard
but i couldnt do it
can someone help me pls

Connect both computers to the router's LAN ports. Run XP's Network
Setup Wizard and tell it that the computers connect to the Internet
through a "residential gateway".

When the Network Setup Wizard asks you to select a connection method,
select "This computer connects to the Internet through another
computer on my network or through a residential gateway."

i did that but it didnt work i still have internet on one
pc and i can't see the other pc
