creating index.html of thumbnails

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me.

I'm trying to create an index.html of images thumbnailed, with the thumbs
leading to full size.

I can create them one at a time, however I need to work with large volumes
of photographs and this is time comsuming and therefore not viable.

What I would like to know, is is Frontpage (I have 2000) capable of mass
importing and thumbnailing images from a URL on the internet.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Until then, it's back to doing it
one at a time =(

There are several programs that can make the thumbnails for you. I like
BatchThumbs from Harmware (his last name is Harm!). Others will mention
other programs, I'm sure and suggest ways you can pull your images from a
database. Don't put too many on a page though ... They shouldn't add up to
more than 40 - 50 Kb for each page.

Hi Colin,

I think the following steps will get you really close to your desired result.

Use the Import Wizard to gather the images from the URL on the internet. You do this by selecting Import from the File menu and pressing the From Site button. Import all the images into a new folder in your Web.

Now, using the Folder List view on the left side highlight all the imported images (from the folder you created in the Import step) and Drag & Drop them onto a new page.

Using your mouse, select them all (or you could use CTRL+A to select everything on the page).
From the menu bar choose Tool then Auto Thumbnail (or you can use the CTRL+T hotkey).

I don't think he was collecting images from the internet. But, that's
correct..... he must import all the images.

yes, they are my own images. For ages I've been too lazy to make
thumbnailed index pages for my archives, that are a big mass of apache
directories. I wanted to get the pictures straight offline and create an
page of them, and upload them all automatically.

unfortunately it didn't work, so I've had to do them by hand, one at a time.

a shitty solution, but it worked.
