Creating Icons? If it is posible and if so how?

I would like to creat my own Icons for my desktop from pics that I have saved from wed sites. If anyone can tell me how I can do this with Windows XP or do I need an other progra

Save as a bitmap in paint. You may rename the bmp file to ico (as some parts expect icon to be ico).

Very simple...download and install the freeware
IrfanView...

Open the image in IrfanView and go to....File /
Save As / .ico.

IrfanView 3.85
