Creating graphics program ?

I have a vague recollection that a program was mentioned here that
was able to start at a start graphic and then create a series of
intermediate graphics to get to an end graphic. Handy for animation
programs.

My memory may be faulty however. Can anyone here remember
what I might be thinking of please ?
