Hi, My apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere. I am looking for a
quick step-by-step for using MM2.1 to capture from my DV camera to DVD. I
have successfully connected and captured one tape to a video file, but I
learned at the end of the process that DVD is not one of the output formats.

Is there a simple way to get from my DV camcorder to DVD? I am not doing a
lot of editing or anything like that. Just some basic titles and little
else. I just want to get my tapes onto DVD for archival purposes.

Thanks a lot for your guidance.

Hi Keith,

You need to use DVD software... see the DVD section of my website for some
apps being used. I use Sonic's MyDVD4.5 which came bundled with my laptop.
If you have a burner, you may already have software to do it.

Movie Maker 2 doesn't natively burn DVDs, but you should have "MyDVD" by
Sonic because a lot of computer's come with that. Keep in mind that the
video files will take up a LOT of space on your computer, something like 20GB
fora 20-minute video.

Once you've burned the DVD and you delete the video file from your computer,
it's always best to do a "search" on all video files on your computer and
you'll probably find that same video file saved in other places. This will be
the only way you get all the space back on your hard drive so you can
continue burning DVD's.
