creating distrib lists without adding each contact

Sometimes, I'll be given a list of contact email addresses
that I will have to write to for a while. For instance,
my theater group sends out updates monthly on Word with
all our volunteers, actors, students, etc.

I'd like to cut all the volunteers email addresses and
paste them into a distribution list
called "volunteers",etc. But outlook seems to want me to
add each one as a contact first. I don't want them all in
my contacts folder. I just want the distribution list to
include the all.

Is there any way to put to create a distrib list from just
a string of email addresses?

contacts in a distribution without creating contacts how can I edit
these. I need to creat smaller lists. ex I have 60 names on a dist list
and Can only send to 20 at a time so Ineed to create new lists that are
smaller but i discovered I cannot copy/paste from the old into the new
and since they are not in "contacts " how do I create the new list? any
help would be appreciated

There is no native ability to do this. DL's have very minimal features and
functionality.
One workaround might be to save the DL as an RTF file, then open it in Word
and convert it to a text file, then convert it to a CSV file in Excel.
You could then import the CSV into a Contacts Folder and at least have the
Contacts to work with to create other DL's.
