creating databases

i had to create a database and then find my record and
the related transactions...access says the screen i
created cannot be used to add a brand new member to the
database, but it can be used to add new expense records
for an existing member to the database...and i don't get
why! Please help!

Sarah, we can't help you if you don't give us some information. YOU
can see your database. We cannot. YOU know what you mean by a "member"
or an "expense record" - we do not.

What is your table structure?
You've created a "screen" - I presume this is a Form?
What is the Form's Recordsource (i.e. what table or query is it
designed to update)?
What actual error message are you getting?
