Getting an error reading the disk while trying to image my drive using
TrueImage ver. 8. I've used this product and ghost for many years. I
prefer TrueImage because it works better across the network. I'm wondering
if it is not working because this computer's harddrive is Serial ATA instead
of IDE. If anyone knows, let me know. The error message I'm getting is
that it can't read sector zero on the harddrive. If I ignore the error
message, the application comes up okay then says that it cannot detect a
harddrive.

I'm impressed with Acronis also.

| Issue resolved. I had to purchase True Image Version 9.
| This version works great.

I checked out Acronis -- I see that it won't work on XP Home "due to XP's
limitations" -- what imaging program would be good for an XP-home user?

What limitations prevent it from working in XP Home? :-)

True Image 10 is a jewel.

Thanks for tipping us to it.

Has anyone experienced any problems between True Image 10 and Perfect Disc
8.0?...

Particularly in defragmenting external backup drives with Perfect Disk that
have compressed True Images on them?

I don't know what limitations -- I just read that in the blurb. The blurb
was about Acronis 8, though, so maybe Acronis 10 is fine. Had something to
do with network.

No, this isn't correct. Acronis True Image works on both Professional and
Home. I use it on both here.
