Creating a white list based on all addresses in sent folder?

I'd like to create a list of addresses for Outlook 2003's Safe Sender's list.
This seems to be a text file.

The most obvious list that I can think of to start with is a list of all
addresses that I've sent mail to.

I have my sent mail folder (and archive folders). How can I create a safe
senders list from this?

I have never used the contact list. It remains empty and doesn't add to my
safe list.

Also, how do I automatically add any new addresses to which I send mail onto
this safe list?

Thanks.

I've never tried this but I suppose you could export your Sent Items folder
to an Excel file or a Comma-Delimited Text file. Then massage that until
only the sent-to address remains, and import that (copy and paste?) into the
text file.

That seems quite ... awkward.

Does anyone have an easier solution?

Or an answer to the second problem? (How to auto add addresses to this list
when I send them mail?)

Maybe this is possible with vbs macros somehow? (add buttons to the toolbar
to auto add/delete addresses to the safe senders list, or scan specific
folders to harvest all email addresses and add them to this list?)
