I have a line of text that I need to insert into a variety of documents.
Currently I load the line from notepad and copy/paste it as needed: is there
a way to store a kind of "stamp" in Word itself so no matter which document
I am in I can insert it right at the cursor? Something kind of like an
email signature, but just a phrase?

Thanks

Wowbagger,

Sure, it is called an Autotext entry. Type in your phrase, select it, and
press Alt+F3
Give is a unique four letter name and click OK or just click OK.

When you need it, just start typing the four letters and when the
autocomplete tip pops up, hit enter.

How about AutoText?

Go to:
Tools > AutoCorrect Options... > AutoText
Type in the text you want as your "stamp".
Check the box "Show AutoComplete suggestions".
Click OK.

Now in your Word document, start typing the first few characters of the
"stamp" text. After you get to about the fourth character, your AutoText
entry should pop up as a yellow "tool tip". Just press ENTER to insert the
complete text string. You can also insert after the first few characters by
pressing F3 if the entered string selects a unique AutoText entry.

Another solution would be AutoCorrect. Go to:
Tools > AutoCorrect Options... > AutoCorrect
Type a short unique text string in the "Replace" box (eg, "qaz") with the
full text string that you want to insert in the "With" box.
Make sure that the "Replace text as you type" box is checked.
Click OK.

Now in your word document, type in your unique key (eg, "qaz") followed by a
space or other punctuation. The key will be immediately replaced with the
full text string.

There are some other options you could use with AutoCorrect such as
formatting, graphics. See the online Help.

Regards,
Lyn.

Perfect. Thanks.
