creating a system restore point

I have windows XP SP2 installed on my PC. Whenever i try to create a system
restore point, i get the message 'windows cannot create a restore point
please reboot the system and try again'. even after rebooting i get the same
message.
kindly help me out with this..

You could try rt clicking MyComputer>select Properties>System Restore.
Check the box Turn off System Restore for all
drives. Restart the computer and just reverse the procedure. If that
doesnt work check at Kelly's

down to System Restore.
 
As Rich say's it might be worth turning system restore off and then back on
again to see if that changes anything. Alternatively you could try
re-installing system restore. For further details on re-installing system
