I have PowerPoint 2003 and need to save a presentation that's designed as
at-home training. How do I save the file so it can be opened on any computer
that has PowerPoint? And, if someone doesn't have PowerPoint, is there a
download so they can view a presentation?

A few possible options:

1) Include the viewer with the presentation
2) Convert finished product to HTML.
3) Use PDF

All of the methods have advantages, all of them have weaknesses.

See these links for additional information:

**Download Free PowerPoint Viewers

**Distribute presentations as Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format)

**Make an AutoRun CD

**PPT2HTML

Nancy,
Save your presentation as a PowerPoint Show (extension of pps). It is just
the same as a ppt, only it opens in show mode instead of edit mode.

As for those who don't have PPT, you can send them to the viewer. Check out
this entry from Steve Rindsberg's PPT FAQ for more information:

Nancy, I think that Bill and Kathy missed the fact that you are using PowerPoint
2003.

Since you are using PowerPoint 2003 I recommend that you use File > Package for
CD. If you are running Windows XP it will write directly to your CD burner and
the resulting CD can be played on any PC, whether it has PowerPoint or not. The
user only has to insert the CD and it will play automatically. Nothing is
installed on the user's system.

If you are running Windows 2000, use Package to Folder and then use your own CD
burning software to move all of the *CONTENTS* of the folder (not the folder
itself) to a CD-R.
