Hi all

I have a presentation which includes our COmpany colours, logos etc and need
to use this quite often for my presentations.

Is there any way I can use the formatting of this presentation for all my
others, so I don't have to use 'file, save as' to copy the formatting onto
another presentation?

Thank you.
Louise

You need to go to view > master > slide master

Set up this slide with the design you need and then save as > save as type
powerpoint template *.pot (you'll need to scroll down to find this!) The
template should appear in the design pane

Hi John
This would be great if it was just a case of changing the fonts and adding
the company template, however, it includes a lot more formatting and would
take a while to create from scratch.

If I open an old presentation and choose File, Save As, can I save it as a
template from there, so it will appear in the task pane for future?

Thank you.
Louise

You could either delete all slides from a file and then save as > powerpoint
template. Make sure you save to the default position that it offers.

OR

Try this

Open Powerpoint
File > New Choose from design template
Click browse (at the bottom)
Change the file of type to "presentations and shows" and navigate to any
presentation with the template.

As if by magic .....

I can save it as a template and then choose File, New every time i create a
presentation based on that formatting - that works fine.

However, how do I actually get the formatting of that slide though to appear
in the 'Slide Design' menu when I click onto New, as normal.

I know this can be done because i've seen it on somebody else's PC so they
do't have to choose File New Template etc. but they can't remember how they
did it....

Sorry to be so picky..

Louise

If you saved in the default folder (C:\docs and setting\Louise\application
data\microsoft\templates - probably) it should appear in the design pane.

The file > new etc was an alternative to get a template direct from an
existing presentation.

I have done that but it still doesn't appear in the design pane.

never mind, I will use File New etc. instead to base it on our company
formats.

Thanks for all your help.
