Currently I am using a raid 5 (three hard drives) for an exchange mail server. I am thinking about adding three new hard-drives to the server and using these three new drives to add a new array to the sever. All of these drives are about 60 gigs.
Now, If I take the sever down late on a Friday night, install the hard drives into the server, how would I got about setting up the BIOS in the server? I want the three new drives to show as one drive so that I can back up the exchange server to the new drives.
About how much down time am I looking at? How hard would this be? What are the chances of losing data from the first array that is currently running?
Thanks,
