I run outlook 2003. I cannot figure out how to sort my database to only
export or print the addresses I have in the distribution list. Can you
please help me?

first let me say your responses to my other questions today were spot on.
Easy to follow, easy to fix. thanks, As for this question, I have a list
with about 200 people on it. In years past I managed them outside Outlook.
6 months ago I moved all records to outlook and tagged each record within the
category field as apart of the distribution list. can I print labels or
export the address for all the contacts in a given category?

Please read your post.
See if you think it would make sense to someone who could not possibly know
anything about the following:
1. A "list with about 200 people." What sort of list might this be?
2. A "list that in years past I managed outside out Outlook." So now we know
this is not Outlook data. What type of data is it?
3. "I moved all records to outlook and tagged each record within the
category field as apart of the distribution list." There is no relation
whatsoever between categories and distributions lists.

I hope you will bear with me when I continue to proclaim your post
unanswerable. I'm sure you know what you mean, but I don't.

I can totally see how it wsa confusing. I was trying to keep it too brief.

My wife and I sent 200 people Christmas cards. In years past I keep the
database of recipients in Goldmine, a database software manager like ACT if
you are familiar. Regardless, I pulled the list out of Goldmine and imported
to outlook this spring. I tagged each record within outlook as "Christmas"
in the categories part of each outlook contact. I made up Christmas as a
personalized category. My question is, how do I export that list of 200
people from outlook to say excel or word so I can print the labels for our
christmas cards? I have over 1,000 in my contacts in outlook and would
prefer to just export the Chrismtas card recipients. Thanks, Lee

There is no need to do any exporting.
You can just do your mail merge from Outlook. Use the By Category view of
your Contacts, select the Contacts in that Category, and do the merge to the
selected Contacts.
Outlook uses Word for performing mail merge functions such as Form Letters,
mailing labels, envelopes, and fax or email merges. For an overview of these
functions take a look here:
