I have two computers, one with win2k another with win xp.
How can I create an home network so that both computers
can share resourses such as printer, zip drives and access
each other hard drives.

Here is my present connnection.

My cable modem is connected to my router/gateway. I then
connect the two computers to the router/gateway. Both
computers can get on the internet without any problem. I
tried running the network wizard in win xp but I still
cannot see both computers on the new workgroup/home
network created by win xp. I have not change any setting
in the router and the rounter can identify both computers.

Any solution or ideas on how to resolve these problem?

Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup.
Make sure you can ping them by IP address, and then try by name.
Make sure the user account for each (login/password) exists identically on
the other.

Enable Netbios over TCP/IP on both machines. Make sure the workgroup name on each machine is the same. Create user
accounts that match on both systems. Disable the firewall on the XP client. Share out any resources you need and that's it.

Thank you,

Are all computers in the same workgroup?
Do you have a userid / password combination setup identically on both
computers?
