I just wondered if anyone could advise me on the above please? i dont have a
windows disc (one was not supplied when pc purchased) and i had a few
problems booting up windows, i managed to sort it but i am paranoid now
incase it happens again as i don't have a boot disc so the above sounds
perfect, but i don't have a clue where to start.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

1. Purchase a second hard drive, internal or external as you wish and
depending on your circumstances (laptop? desktop?). External USB hard
drives are quite reasonably priced and very handy.

2. Purchase Acronis True Image and install it. Create the Acronis bootable
CD.

3. Attach the external hard drive and boot with the Acronis bootable CD (you
can probably start the imaging from within Windows but that's not how I do
it so it's up to you). Use the True Image program to create an image of
your system and save the image onto the external hard drive. Should you
need to restore your computer using that image, you'll boot with the
Acronis bootable CD and use the True Image program to restore.

Further questions about using True Image can be answered by reading the
documentation that comes with the program and/or posting on their user
forums.

Thank you Malke, your instructions were very helpful. I am running a desktop
pc and already have a 250gb external hard drive so it seems all thats left to
do is make the purchase which i will do now.

Thank you once again.
