Creating a Field in a query from 2 fields in a database table

I want to create a field in a query form 2 fields in a table (Surname and
Last name), so that I can create group field in a report. I have tried a lot
of things and nothing seems to work. Anyone got a solutin to my problem
 
Is Surname and Last name not the samr thing ??

Anyway, in your query just type this into the Field Row of a new column

NewFieldName: [Surname] & [Last name]
