I am trying to copy photos to a CD and then show them on my DVD player. The
files are copying and I can view them on my computer but they won't play on
the DVD player. I suspect they are being burned as photo files and not as
data files but I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help, I'm sure its
something simple that I'm doing wrong.

If you can see them on your computer, they were copied properly. All you
need is the extension .jpg after the file name for your DVD player to read
them.
You need to look in your DVD player manual to check if your player can play
photo files (JPG or JPEG). Older player could not, and if they could they
could display files of lesss than 1 MB.
Second you need to check the type of CD your player can use. CD-R or CD+R
and use the proper CD type.

Some DVD players are compatible with
JPEGs (this will be mentioned in your DVD
player documentation). However, if your
images are not in the JPEG format...or if
your DVD player does not have the JPEG
option...you will have to create a VCD
(on a CD) or a DVD.

Software of the following type can create
VCDs and/or DVDs from your collection
of images and/or video clips.
