Creating a button used to browse for a file

Hi there,
I have a hyperlink field called file path which will open
the file stated in the file path stored in the field, so
then i am wondering if there is a shorter way and more so
a way where the possiblity of making mistakes with the
file path will be small.

So in essence I am trying to find out if there is anyway
possible to create a command button that will open a
browse window so that i can search for a file. And once
the file is found the file path is stored in the field.
