I am using WordXP and have Adobe software for creating
PDF file. I would like to "automatically"
create "bookmarks" in PDF file. How do I "mark" Word
document so that "bookmarks" are created in PDF file?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Use the tool installed (on the Toolbar and the Adobe Menu) by Adobe
Acrobat into Word to do just that. Extremely powerfull tool. Read the
Adobe Acrobat user guide to learn how to make it do exactly what you want.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Didn't quite answer my question. Do you create the "PDF
bookmarks" in Adobe software or can it be done in the
Word document? I would prefer to do it in the Word
document so that they (bookmarks) don't need to be redone
if Word document changes and new PDF has to be created.

Sorry. If you "style" the Word document with standard headings (Heading
1, 2, 3, etc.), the Adobe tool will translate them into what they call
bookmarks. This is fully described in the user guide to the Adobe
Acrobat product. There are many things you can setup to control exactly
how this transformation works in the command "Change Configuration
Settings" on the Adobe menu added to Word. Highly recommend you read
about this in the Adobe documentation. (Press Help button on the Change
Configuration Settings dialog box).

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
