Using ADVANCED FIND in Outlook (2003 is what I have) is always frustrating
for me. I FIND the group of contacts I'm looking for (using a category as my
search parameter) but then I can't seem to DO anything with the information.

I want to create LABELS from the contacts returned in the ADVANCED FIND
search result window but I can't figure out how to do this.

Any help?
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer

You can't used Contacts filtered through Advanced Find for a mail merge. You
can only use Contacts filtered from within a Contacts Folder.

Can you tell me why that is? We need ways to sort contacts for different
mailings without using several different contact folders. Is there a disign
reason for this?

Thanks
Lenox

Have you looked at Categories?

Advanced Find is not a separate data source. Contacts Folders are a data
source. So you filter your Contacts Folder however you wish and perform the
merge to that selection.

Thanks. Yes. We use categories heavily but at times we find the need to
sort (for instance) by Creation Date meaning a customer or prospect has been
in our files for a long or short time. Make sense?

If you have an easy way of doing that with categories I'd be obliged to you
for the information.

Thanks,
Lenox

Ahh. That makes perfect sense. We did find a work-around. We complete the
search and then select the contacts and copy them to a new contact folder.

Thanks for your quick reply.
