I have a friend who has just bought a new computer with only 1 20 gig HD
containing XP Pro and just one partition.
Can she subdivide that partition into two 10 gig ones, thus creating a
second one, (D), to accompany her present C?

Thanks

The only way you can create, delete, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows XP installation, is to use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com).
