Create DVD Movies

How do I save a file to be able to burn onto a DVD to be viewed on my tv-dvd
player? I'd like to save it as an mpeg or mpeg2 but don't see that option.
I tried saving as an .avi file but its too large.

Thanks john, do you know if windows makes an add-on that can be purchased to
enable me to burn dvds directly from movie maker2?
 
if you say to large file, you have probably fat32 format
convert to the other format, save in avi format. use then
a dvd burner program example is Nero and you will have a
nice dvd usable for the tv
