I need to upgrade the BIOS on my pc. However, I first
have to create a system diskette and cannot find out how
to do so under windows2000.
Anyone know how?
Thanks,
Sam

One of the options is Emergency Repair Disk.
You should also back up your system state. First create aa partition to hold
the back up. Use Partition Magic or a similar utility. It will enable you to
move all files to one end of the C: partition, and can then create one or
more new partitions in the free space. (I always create at least three
partitions, but that's another story.) Make sure C: (the "system partition")
is 4-6GB in size -- Windows applications insist on installing at least part
of themselves on C: (they shouldn't, but that's also another story.) Use the
2nd/3rd/etc partitions to store data. Then when (not if) you have to repair
or reinstall W2K, you will not risk losing your data.
PS: Get a book or two. Now that XP is the "system of choice " (sarcasm), and
MS has warned it will stop supporting W2K in a couple of years or so, Win2000
books are being sold at much reduced prices.
