I have an Excel workbook with mulitple worksheets that I need to create a
presentation for. Do I have to copy/past every worksheet or is there a way
to import an entire workbook? I have tried the insert/object/browse option
but it only inserts the first page of the workbook.

Can you speak more specifically about the presentation? In general, I
am not a fan of embedding Excel workbooks into PPT because it makes
the file size larger. Also, embedding makes a new copy of the XLS,
and having 2 copies of the same file means that one version will be
out of date. If you have more than one people depending on the XLS,
this means you will have to worry about synchronizing the numbers.
The entire workbook is embedded on a single slide, but will show only
one page of the workbook UNLESS you double-click on the workbook. This
will open up Excel, taking you somewhat out of PPT. You may choose to
insert the spreadsheet on multiple slides, but each time you do so,
the file size increases dramatically.
There is also an option to link the Excel file, allowing you to keep
to press a key to update the slideshow periodically with the latest
numbers, while keeping the file size down, but taking the slideshow
"on the road" moving it to a floppy or CD or any other computer almost
always screws up the link so that you can no longer update.
My presentations are given to groups who are interested only in the
final numbers. These presentations are often given in conference rooms
at other companies, and involve rather proprietary spreadsheet
models. Thus, we keep the Excel files separate, not embedding them in
the PPT. We instead copy the relevant portions as pictures (in Excel,
holding down the SHIFT key and using the Copy function. When the
numbers change, the rep pastes in new pictures. We can leave a copy
of the PPT if the audience desires without worrying that the company
will see the inner workings of our models. We never worry about
accidentally opening the spreadsheet in the middle of our presentation
and distracting our audience in the boardroom or corporate
auditorium.
If you are presenting to your immediate boss or others in the company
who need to interactively work with the spreadsheets during the
presentation, our solution will not suit you.
