There isn't too much you can do without any repair tools. But how do you
know you have a virus? What antivirus program do you have installed? Did
you get any messages from it?

To scan for viruses and malware, see:

Obviously you will need to get tools and updates from a known-clean, working
computer with an Internet connection.

Can you boot into Safe Mode and use the built-in Administrator account?
Repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer is starting to get to the right
menu.

You mention that you can get into your children's accounts. Are they
Limited?

Without knowing more details from you, I can't guess what's wrong with your
machine or give you more focused help. Post back with some information
about your computer, what version of XP you're running, answers to my
questions in the first paragraph, as well as the recent history of the
machine.

A virus is pure speculation and and only an assumption on your part and the likelyhood is
very low.

A mere corruption in the OS concerning the User Registry of said accounts can be the
causitive factor.
