Ive got a problem getting the latest nvidia drivers to work on my system.

abit nf7-s MB
xp2400
1.5gb RAM
XP Pro
asylum gforce fx5200 128mb

the 53.03 version drivers dont work. I get blue screens upon reboot
after i install the drivers. sometimes it also locks up at the splash
screen.

The card only works with the drivers that were provided on the disk with
the card, which are 43.51 and NOT digitally signed.

as a matter of fact, the card does not work with any drivers that I
download from nvidia's website that are later than version 45.33.

I have an older geforce 4 ti4400 128mb card that I put back in to see if
something was wrong with my newer card, but I got the same exact
problem. the only drivers that worked for that card was the ones
provided on the CD that came with the card and are not MS signed. no
drivers I download from nvidai will work.

here's what else Ive tried:

I put in another MB to rule out a MB problem. got the same problem
again. I swapped out RAM...same problem, tried with less RAM....same
problem. booted with no other hardware attached that might be
conflicting(no modem, no cdroms, floppy, etc..)...same problem. done a
chkdsk on the drive....same problem. ran SFC...same problem.

THIS IS INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of stupid friend would be so kind to risk taking out his or her
display card out , download drivers ( assuming that they had the
expertise)and possibility having problems themselves ? Of course with the
presumed expertise they would know that your problem is probably a driver
conflict or setting problem. Are you sure you would not like to rethink
your advice ?Jym

A stupid friend that has the expertise. You said it, *Jim*.

conflict or setting problem.

Speak English much, *Jim*?

guys, Im not putting it in a friends machine and I dont think calling
the card maker will help much either. Ive already disabled everything in
device manager that I possibly can while still allowing the pc to boot
properly. And ive even swapped out every other piece of hardware within
the machine itself with the exception of the hard drive and still got
the error. its a problem within XP, i know that due to the fact that 2
different cards by 2 different card makers give me the same result. yes
its probably a driver conflict somewhere, but what else could it be
conflicting with? I dont have anything in start up or any un-needed
services starting up.

Kev,
Have you installed the latest Nforce motherboard drivers from
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_3.13 ?

If you have already done this, or you do this and still have the same
problem with the 53.03 drivers, please send me the minidumps located at
c:\windows\minidump. I will look into your problem and get back to you on
what I find.
