G'day all

This has totally stumped me.

2 days ago my send and receive action/button totally stopped working -
it is the same for the other user on this machine

Nothing fancy going on either - no errors no nothing ... just no
receiving (I can actulally send out a test message when in my account
ptoperties)

I can still connect to my email server via telnet from the same box

I have tried:
a repair (detect & repair)
uninstalling and reinstalling all of office
uninstalling and reinstalling OE
uninstalling my latest Windows XP patch

used "Advanced Outlook Repair" to repair my .pst

all to no avail

Please HELP if you can ... my outlook is my life ... already my
mailbox is chocking up

Cheers
moosus

Just checking; you are refering to Outlook, not Outlook Express?
Assuming OL, you ran the default inbox repair tool, scanpst.exe, several
times?
The version of OL?
If you can run the Test Account procedure, this runs with no errors?
The test msg is not received?
You've checked your Views?
Are you able to log onto your ISP to check your mailbox, via web interface?

ok ... full version of Outlook 2003 (have tried both with SP2
installed and not)

Can run test account with no errors ... test message is sent and does
go to the inbox (wne checked with onother email client (thunderbird)

Views are fine & "Disable Send & Receive" is not checked

Mailboxes are all fine via web & other client

have run scanpst.exe once ... will run again several times

thanks ... this is still bugging me

Don't use SPAM plugin ... do battle on my own ... just prior to typing
I have moved from Trend Micro Corporate to Symantec Corporate to see
if AV change makes any differnece.

Have tried safe mode ... no joy (btw you can easily open into safe
mode by holding down Ctrl and starting Outlook)

Will look @ creating a new profile

Cheers

You have disabled any AV and or Spam plugins?

umm, I think I might try starting OL with the safe switch first
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/commandlines.htm

If still no go, I'd be tempted to create a new profile, add a new data file
and then add an account.
