Nick

I am having problems with my operating system, too slow,
seems like it has no memory and is constantly crashing.
I ran a search on one of the programs that caused it to
crash earlier and the program name is iexplore.exe, and
the search found two (2) programs with the same name but
in different files. one in c:\program files\internet
explorer and the other in
c:\windows|servicepackfiles\i... bot type of files are
application.

Do I need both of these files, I thought they because of
the name being the same and the type being the same, they
may be clashing when a particular function is to take
place, help
thanks

iexplore.exe is Internet Explorer. IE is continuously being patched to avert
security threats, and these patches are distributed in the form of critical
updates and service packs, therefore it is not at all surprising that you
have more than one file with that name. Don't attempt to delete either one.

If you are having multiple problems with your computer and don't understand
why, the best thing you can do is to let your computer be serviced by
someone whom you trust. Be sure the person explains exactly why you are
experiencing problems - that's how to get your money's worth. If you try to
fix things on your own without a clear understanding of what you are doing,
you can be your own worst enemy.

The very best thing you can do is to learn how to use your computer
properly. Trust me: I've messed up my computer so badly that Dell pretended
they didn't know me. Then I got smart. You can too.

Depends on the version of IE installed
Try uninstalling from Add Remove if it is listed
If not you can try to upgrade to 6 if not already done
