Hi EAG1945, Thanks for the info which I have tried, my sound was enabled
on the bios (why I didn't notice before I don't know). It helped a bit
she isn't crashing as much but she could be better i'm thinking of
replacing the motherboard and the psu as that is only a 300w thinking
of a 600w the motherboard was only a make do but wasn't planning to
replace it just yet but if I get the new psu I may as well get the
motherboard aswell. Thanks for your help :)

maiden fan,
You are welcome for the help. I am running an AMD 2400+, with 1 gb DDR400
ram, Radeon 9600 and Soundblaster Audigy 2. I am able to play games, like
Doom3, Half Life, Call of Duty and many more, at 1280 x 1024 with do
problems. I am also able to record video or write DVD's while running other
programs, with do problems. I think that maybe your psu is a little under
powered. Good luck and let me know how the new motherboard and cpu work out.

Hi Maiden,

To determine what driver is causing the problem I need you to enable driver
verifier.
Steps:
1) Windows Key + R
2) Type in 'verifier' and hit enter
3) Make sure 'Create Standard Setting' is selected and hit next
4) Click on 'Select all drivers installed on this computer' and hit Finish
5) Reboot

There is a possibility that your computer will crash on reboot. If this
occurs hit F8 when rebooting just before the windows logo screen and select
the safe mode boot option. Follow the same steps above but on step 4 choose
'Select driver names from a list'; hit next; check the box next to any
driver where the provider is not Microsoft; hit Finish; reboot.

This will slow the performance of you computer a little while enabled but
will hopefully catch the driver causing corruption. Next time you crash
the blue screen will hopefully say something like
"DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION". If this occurs please send the
corresponding minidump (by default it is at c:\windows\Minidump ) my way.
If you have any questions or I didn't explain something well enough don't
hesitate to e-mail me (remove "online") back. Good Luck,
