Crashing after Update

I recently used automatic updates to update my compaq
presario 700. since then my computer has been crashing
frequently. It is the first time I've updated since I
installed windows XP. If anyone knows what file(s) I have
to remove to prevent this let me know.

Hey Brad,

Need more information

Presumably you're getting the blue bug check screen, if not

control panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery setttings
Uncheck automatically restart.

Post the error name, the codes (all the numbers starting 0x...) and any
driver it mentions normally a filename with a .SYS extension

Check with Compaq. I believe if you used Windows Update
to update drivers, you may now have incorrect drivers.
