IE continually freezes and then crashes after java component was installed on
yahoo pinochle. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I don't want to
restore to an earlier date because I have personilzed many programs and
created many files today. Can I reinstall IE only?

Check your Downloaded Programs Folder for the java applet that was
downloaded by pinochle. You can try deleting it. The problem is not IE but
the downloaded applet so there is no need to 'fix' IE.

I am have the same problem when I go into Spades and play a game. I cannot get back out of yahoo without using task manager to close the "http.spades.yahoo" I have done everything in the troubleshooting steps and it still does not work. Any suggestions??

Thank you for your reply Rob. I do have a j2SE Runtime Einvironment file
that is 97MB. I don't know if it was installed on Yahoo? I looked at that
before I posted, but I can't tell when it was installed on my computer. I'm
wondering, if I remove it will IE still be fully functional, that is, will I
still be able to view web sites requiring Java?

View your activex folder and select the details view to see the install date
and status of the downloaded java applet. That will tell you the download
date and status of the control. It may just be needed to be updated. If you
right-click on the control there are options to view properties - that will
tell you if it came from Yahoo, delete or Update the control.

It may be that Yahoo developers have sinced posted an update that would
resolve any issues with IE.

If you delete it of coarse you will not be able to play pinochle until you
revisit the site and re-install the required java component.
