Take out/disconnect any hardware that wasn't original with the computer and
try again. If that doesn't work, contact whoever made the computer as
they've customized the install and they're the only ones who would know what
might cause specific problems.

You do realize that this is going to set the computer back to the way it was
when you first got it? Is that what you really want to do? It might be
easier to just fix the problem you're having.

Restore CD not working

Similar problem here, except mine is a C++ runtime error which is giving me problems opening folders. I decided it was time to restore anyway (far too much rubbish on my HD) so I backed up all the important stuff, but I'm also finding that my eMachines/XP Home Ed. restore disks aren't working. I've set CD-ROM as first priority in BIOS, but still nothing's happening.

D. Currie mentioned about removing unoriginal hardware, the only things I've changed are the CD-ROM drive to a DVD-ROM (can't put the old one back, it's broken!), and I've also added a second 20GB Hard Ddrive, which is where I backed stuff up to. I suppose I could remove that, but if there may be some other solution I'd prefer it (not keen on opening the box up, makes me nervous!)

Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks!
