I updated my brothers new ATI Tyan Tachyon 9600Pro card with the latest 3.7
drivers yesterday (came installed with 3.5). Every game (and latest 3D Mark)
crashed after about 4/5 seconds of starting. Changing various D3D settings
didn't help.
Going back to the 3.5 drivers fixed the problem. The drivers I downloaded
were the ones from the official ATI site - but going to the Tyan site I
noticed they still only offered 3.5 but also linked to some reference
drivers page at ATI that had 3.6 drivers. I'm wondering if I should only be
updating his drivers with the Tyan certified drivers, or does this not
usually make a difference with ATI type cards?
If not then what might the problem be with the 3.7 drivers?
