I had no luck in deleting apps. and everything came up
clean, so eventually I swapped the Raid array over from the
Promise Raid SATA378 controller to the VIA Southbridge SATA
Raid controller on the same board and reloaded the OS and
software all exactly as before and it now scans fine. I
don't like that Promise controller....
