I have Outlook 2002 and XP Pro, with all current updates.

I just got a msg from a friend that was a html page from the send page
option of his program. In preview pane it caused an immediate crash and a
automatic restart was just an endless loop of crash and restart. I had to
quickly open another folder before the msg loaded in preview and then turn
off preview pane and then delete the msg.

The same thing used to happen if I got some foreign spam in a language I
didn't have loaded in the system.

If you start outlook with preview enabled and it starts on that msg it will
crash immediately.

any one know a fix for this?
Thanks

Start Outlook from the command line using the parameter /nopreview.
Start->run->outlook.exe /nopreview

Thanks, but what is causing the problem and what's the fix?
It kind of defeats the purpose if you can't read the email.
