While developing a database, a query was open in design
view.

Plugged a cordless mouse and keyboard unit into the usb
port (while the database and query were open).

The system crashed. After that, the database would not
open. Tried several things and nothing worked.

The message when attempting to open the database is:

....jet database engine could not find the object 'name of
object'. Make sure the object exists and you spelled its
name and path name correctly.

No security to worry about. Is there a way to point the
jet engine to the database? Or, any suggestions
otherwise on how to access the database would be much
appreciated.

Have you tried repairing the DB?
This can be found under Tools-Database Utilities-Compact & Repair (Acc 2K+)

When you open an Access DB, an ldb, record-locking file is created. If the
system crashes this is sometimes left behind, & can prevent users from
opening it. If you cannot repair the DB, try deleting this file (if it
exists).

Failing that, try importing all of the objects into a new, clean DB.
