I was installing a new program, and my system crashed, when I reboot it I appear not to have windows xp, my display settings have gone , my screen colours are distorted and settings are set at lowest(4bit) with no option to change to anything else, can anyone help. my O/S was XP pr

Hopefully you have system restore running,do a restore

to a previous date before the install.Start--all proframs-
-accessories--system tools--system restore,restore to a
past date.
 
Sounds like your Video Card settings have been re-set to
VGA. Your Video driver is not loaded properly. Check
that first.
