This is an update from a previous post:
If I open a workbook by launching it from Windows
Explorer, My Computer or a Shortcut I get the, "Excel has
generated errors and will be shut down," immediately upon
trying to edit a cell. I can refresh links (if they
exist) or print or anything not related to editing a cell
without a crash. This does not appear to be related to
external data ranges because the error occurs all
workbooks regardless of embedded data.
The workaround I have been suffering through is to open
Excel then File, Open to get the workbook open. I find
the error doesn't occur if I open workbook from inside
Excel.
When I opened Excel in safe mode, I didn't get the error.
Also, after I ran /regserver, the error continued to occur.
