cr drawer stopped opening

Hey all, my cd drawer won't open unless I do the paperclip thing. I was
using it last night with no trouble. Could it just be that it was ready
to die? The drive works fine , just the tray wont come out. Is there
anyway to get it working again?, or is it time to replace the drive .
The drive is an LG 16x10x40 cdrw. I know that a new drives are quite
cheap, but I would still like to know if it can be put right. Thanks in
advance for any help you can provide.
