Ok what's the difference between CPU's? Not AMD or Intel, but say a E8400
and Xeon E3110? Both are Wolfdale cores but the E3110 says "Server" on the
box. Looking at the spec's they look the same except for the voltage
requirements. So I guess my real question is what's the difference between
a desk top CPU and a Server Cpu? Are they inter-changeable? Will games
suffer because the CPU is designed for a server?

Why ask HERE? If you want to compare processors you should be doing
searches elsewhere - but as this has NOTHING to do with the OS it is
out of place HERE.

Ask elsewhere

Where else should he ask a hardware question?

what good would the OS do with out a CPU? Maybe I'm wrong but this is the
WindowXP HARDWARE forum?

Ignore the little twat.

He is a self appointed usenet nazi that has contributed nothing except his
repeated rantings about people posting hardware questions in a hardware
newsgroup.

Since there is no suitable active alternative newsgroup, your question is
welcome.

Kill file him.

How should I know? Web pages? Magazine that compare processors?
There are HUNDREDS of resources to find this information that ARE
appropriate - but this group is not one of them.

What does a comparison of stats for processors have to with XP?
NOTHING. Hence, the post is out of place here.

But everything to do with hardware, so this is the place.

Sure - IF THE HARDWARE QUESTION RELATES TO THE OS.

This one did NOT. Hence, it is out of place.

Bye now.

It is the place as far as everyone else is concerned. If you know a better
place (and I'm certain that you don't) suggest it.

Ah, but that yould be helpful and go against the grain for you.

Paul has a CONSTANT hangup when people ask for help and constantly refers
them to the OS, as if THAT was the ONLY thing to consider when THIS IS !!!!
a hardware group. Windows -yes, BUT HARDWARE !!!!

Paul will not give up! His mind is made up! He apparently is in the WRONG
group, since he has NOTHING to ever say about hardware!!!

YES, BYE to YOU and stay far away. You make me sick with your constant OS
problem, you cannot apparently READ that this is also a HARDWARE group!

Just stay away and you do us all a GREAT favor.

YOU help never anyone with your dumb OS comments!!!

But he can't, because he doesn't know anything. (So you may have to cut
him some slack...)
