CPUs don't have any 'lights' on them.

Are you referring to the Hard Drive activity LED on the front of the PC?

yes the led on the front of the pc
.

CPU is NOT the DESKTOP or TOWER..................
it is the thing inside your pc that is an AMD or Intel......................

The LED cannot change color.
Indexing does NOT change the color of the IDE(HD) led.
There are only TWO connections from each LED to the board and not four.
ALL boards only have a power led and an ide(HD) led.

On ALL pc's there is a POWER led and a IDE(HD) led.
Each is a different color.
When you turn on the pc the POWER (Green)led lights.
When the HD or CD is active then the RED or sometimes orange IDE led lights.

It is an IDE led and NOT an HD led!
if and HD led then it would not light when the CD is running.
Is there such thing as a HARD drice cable/connector?
NO, it is an IDE connector.
