CPU usage

Has anybody else noticed the System (NT Kernel & System) constantly running
about 25% of their CPU? I'm not sure if it's been that way since I
installed RC1 (clean) or if I did something that might have caused it. I've
gone through and terminated just about everything and it still sucks up CPU.

I've been running for about a week with few problems, other than not being
able to use certain tools that are currently incompatible.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, btw. I'm running Vista 86 with a Pentium 4 3.4GHz, 2G of memory on a
Dell XPS Gen 3.

Thx again

Hi!

I noticed the same thing for NT Kernel & System but only during the first 3
minutes after starting the PC.
After these 3 minutes, CPU is near 1%.

Bye! Roger

Figured it out. DUMeter seems to want to use CPU constantly under
Vista.

Something is wrong.

I have DUmeter installed and my computer idles at 1-2% after it
settles down with DUmeter running. Even when downloading lots of data,
like the Vista ISO, it barely registers in the task manager.

You wouldn't happen to be running a version of Avast Antivirus with
it?

Nope. Had it on then took it off. I'm not really sure what is happening.
I put DUMeter on and my CPU usage runs about 25%. I take it off and it
drops to 1% or 2%. I'll keep checking.

Thanks

I was running Avast, but took it off. I have done a re-install of RC1 and
still have the same issue with I install DUMeter. With it I run about 25%
CPU all the time. Without, I run 1%-2% like I think I should. I'll keep
investigating. There might be some incompatibility between DUMeter and some
other program I've installed. Not complaining mind you. That's what Betas
and RCs are all about.

Thanks,
Kirk

Obvious, but I have to ask, are you using version 3.07 of DUmeter?
