After MSAS installed, my computer slows to a crawl when it
loads applications such as IE. I check the processes in
the Task Manager and both CA Antivirus and MSAS are sharing
the CPU power at its max, that is 40%+ and 50%+,
respectively. First, I disable the MSAS's service, which
is gcasDtServ.exe, the computer is back to normal. Later,
I instead disable the eTrust's RealTime service and the
MSAS's service is using all CPU power at 97-98%, which
brings my computer down to almost a halt. I wonder when
the next Beta is available. System spec: P4 1.7GHz, 512MB
RAM, runing in a domain environment.

Thanks,

First suggest that you should update to the latest eTrust AV release
7.0.5.3 dated 15th Dec 2004 , download if necessary from:-
<ftp://ftpez.ca.com/pub/myeTrust/apps/EZAntivirus.exe>

Also note that CA have had some problems with the LSP part of there
eTrust AV program and have released a bug fix dated 6th Jan 2005.

It may be worth down loading and installing the two files to see if this
fixes your problem.
